Amber improves contrast. Polarization reduces glare. - Wrap-around design protects eyes and preserves peripheral vision. - Rubber grips on nose and ears prevent glasses from sliding. - Plastic frames make them light in weight, durable, and flexible. They are cheap and fall apart quickly. The rubber nose and ear pieces come off easily. The lenses are cheap plastic, the listing says Triacetate and a search online shows that this is NOT a good plastic to use in sun glasses as it only absorbs about 40% of UV rays (that is from allaboutvision.com). They use it because it is cheap.You can get MUCH better sun glasses for $5-$10. If I had handled these in a store before buying them I wouldn't have even paid $5 for them. I might have paid $4.
